Re: Desert Island Sample Library
Here's a few of the libraries I've been finding useful over the past few years:
-Bill Laswell Collection (Sony Creative Software)
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/loop_libraries/showloop.asp?SPID=37
-Jerome Dillon & Keith Hildebrant's ARYTHMIA (Sony Creative Software)
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/buy/arythmia1?disp=1
-Seismic Frequencies (Zero-G)
http://www.zero-g.co.uk/index.cfm?articleid=165
-BT presents Breaks from the Nu School.
http://www.cafepress.com/btmusic.93236171
Do some exploring, sounding original is better than hucking the same unprocessed samples into your stuff as everyone else...
Have fun,

Re: Desert Island Sample Library
Vengeance sample cds for punchy drums. Best Service/Loopmasters for hip hop/electro/house bits. Can't go wrong with those sample cd makers. Too bad all the dnb sample packs haven't been that great. Only a few samples are salvagable from the Ez-Rollers sample pack. Zero-G Total Drum n Bass is alright. I have a secret source for my hip hop drums tho. I would definetely bring those! Oh and squash breaks from the DOA forums are a lifesaver for dropping in dnb drum loops. |

Re: Desert Island Sample Library
As far as drums, we like the FXpansions BFD and a few of their expansion packs along with a few other kits we have collect over the years from friends, doa, ect....but other then drums / vocals, we dont really use too many samples! now if we had to choose some Desert Island VSTs, well then we would have to go with the Zebra 2, Albino 3, Massive and the Atmosphere. |

Re: Desert Island Sample Library
@origin.. BT Breaks are bad ass sounding... too bad you hear them like every 5 minutes when you turn on the TV (part of that is probably my fault actually haha)
at work i use a lot of the East West stuff (strings, brass, perc) the EW Ra library is actually pretty awesome... its intended for authentic ethnic stuff, but i use it for hip hop and electronic stuff all the time. but dont upgrade to their new player (pure) it sucks big time! stick with the kompakt versions.. |
