Re: How do i record a mix?
My mixer only has 1 set of outputs, so I run a Y-splitter with one end going to my stereo and the other end going to my computer's Line In. Set your levels on the mixer so that it doesn't clip -- you can always raise the volume after-the-fact.

Re: How do i record a mix?
Better to record in at loudest volume level possible. Being that your mixer & turntables are analog equipment, you're dealing with analog signal - which means you have to deal with the noise floor.
If you record in at low volume and then boost the volume level of the whole recording, you're also increasing the gain of the noise floor. This compromises an optimal signal-to-noise scenario. |
