a couple days ago my computer crashed and i lost most of my files along with all my programs. anyways, ive been trying to reinstall reason and every time i install it i keep getting an error saying that the "reason engine wasnt properly installed, please reinstall...." or something close to that... i have the legitimate cds...they arent burned or downloaded or anything like that. does anyone have any insight? please help! i miss my program.
still isnt working!! blah! and propellerhead doesnt know how to help me either....what a waste of money. ive reinstalled it a hundred times...uninstalled it, tried installing v1 first then version 2 and still nothing. blah.
If this worked on your machine before, and now it doesn't, something is messed up outside the program. You may need to wipe your OS off your drive and reinstall windows from scratch. The crash you had may have corrupted files that Reason depends on to work. If propellerheads can't help you with what files those are, then the quickest way for you to get back up and working would be to reformat and reinstall the OS ad then your programs. If that still doesn't work, and you haven't changed hardwre on the machine, then something may be wrong with your disc. But, then, you said you tried with both ver 1 and ver 2, so it probably isn't the disc.
Have you recently installed Nuendo?
There are some conflitcts w/ Rewire, you can download a fix for it. Although it didnt work for me I had to roll back the memory on my comp till be4 i installed Nuendo. Cubase SX works better anyway.
yes, I am pretty sure that the problem is with the rewire thing, even if you aren't using rewire. This happened to me when I first installed reason, it had something to do with a bad Cubase install on my pc. I can't tell you exactly what you need to do to fix it, but I can tell you a) it IS fixable and b) I figured out how to fix it by reading the support at propellerheads.se. So browse around there, the fix is there somewhere.
its not the rewire fix, that was one of the first things i tried. i have already reformated the hard drive that crashed ( i have two, the one that was reformatted had windows on it, as well as reason). ive also gone into the regedit and erased all the logs of reason incase there was some kind of conflict (this was after i installed it once and it still wasnt working). i dont see how it could be the discs since they arent cdrw and the data connot be changed. all it says is that reason engine is not installed properly, even tho i can find the file in the reason folder. DEATH! i would like to think that when you actually buy a program it isnt going to be as difficult as if you were trying to download it but this is starting to prove me wrong. propellerhead isnt helping me much either....they just keep saying that its the computer and i have to reinstall it. well 20 times later, same s**t...ARGGGHH>...frustration's a b!tch.
Yo man i bought reason like 2 weeks ago and i was having the same problem for like 2-3 days
it kept saying reason engine wasnt properlly installed.i kept trying and it wouldnt work.i registered it and dl's the 2.5 patch and now it has been working.for some reason when i first start my comp and my interenet is connecting if i try to run reason i get the same message.after the internet log in qindow closes reason works fine.thats really wierd????
