because Randy Watson (who played JOE THE POLICEMAN) remember believes the Children Are Our Future, his pastor ain't that crazy, he isn't afraid to show his emotion for his fellow man (the kiss on the forehead), his band's name is not exactly pc but hey the message is on point and he has great stage prescene (and an exit to boot)...and the polls (well the one guy in the crowd) exclaim "that boy is gooooooood"

Or, if they wanted to relate to those Americans that are suffering and angry, they could have connected to them by talking about Shoeless Joe Jackson.
Shoeless Joe, the common man, who in these hard economic times can't even afford shoes. And we need to show our recognition of all the hard workers, and put this man in the HALL OF FAME like he deserves.
