How the F**K did you pick that DJ name?

ok..there's been the "how did you get your dj name thread"..

this ones for...those DJ names you randomly see and hear which make you go... "hmmmm..WHY?"

Bass Nacho is one of my favorite vocalists!

I'm sure there's some inside joke about the name.... very versitile though. Does it all from reggae to rap to jungle.

DJ TRAINWRECK always cracks me up.

Bass Nacho is a bad mon from florida (one of the best ragga mc's thats down with jungle stateside!!!)
If he lived closer everybody would know the name and the skillz..... he can be heard on wax though.. with many releases on a few labels..

Yeah I have only seen the Bass Nacho on a flyer, I apologize for calling him a DJ..but pretty funny performer name :-)

Bass Nacho is the homie...! that dude lived in NYC for a hot minute and used to rock with us @ KJ....Cat has MAD flavor but is about the most MANIC MFer you will EVER see on stage...he's like the DnB version of Elephant Man! I think you might be able to listen to a couple of mixes with him on them on the KJ MySpace page....or you can check him out on a couple of joints he did with my bredren Lion Dub...fiyah fo sho...

His pops is in the band Inner Circle (yes...of Bad Boys aka Cops Themesong fame), so I'm sure that is where alot of the ragga influence comes from....

If I remember right, he got the name cuz his flows are hot & spicy like nachos....

Classic chant: "Who got the weed, who got the weed, who got the f**kin weed!"

mine kinda fell upon me...although truth be known i'm more of a 5XL and sometimes wear 7XL...When I played Hardcore I used to go by the Xorcist circa 92.
Although I gotta be honest...i've always wondered where the hell "TAKDIEGO" came from!!!?

I spin under ERU (a god from my favorite book)

also under "Rasta" and i have been called that for years now. Although im not even close to being a rasta and i ask my friends to not call me it around anyone who is...just to avoid the obvious..

but i always wondered about:
dj floppy ears
bitchsmart
shoeglue

and there are a couple of others from czech rep. that have some names that dont translate in any f**king language haha

back in 99' when we had our record store Zen Beats in whittier we used to sell a gang of jungle records over the phone to this dj in Puerto Rico that went by the name "Dirty Shoes"

i simply took mine from an o.d.b lyric..."old dirty bastard live n uncut"...thats where i got my dj name from...i produced 1 track using the name stepchyld..i dont know..i just kinda liked it...you know the whole "step" thing..as far as chyld...u know ..kinda like boy..(dieselboy)...lolololol...
i spun once under the name spuncut...and sometimes instead of putting criminal element under my name..ive been known to put..
chinese gang f**k ...as my affiliation..dont ask y..just thought it had a nice ring to it!!lol

my name use to be suicide bomber... (Before 911) So I decided to change it after that. And I beatbox. and my boys use to call me beatbox monster. so if you cut everything up. Beat (Box) (Mon) ster and my name is Ar(man) So it sounded about right. And I liked a lot of ragga around that time. And im sure no one else had it.

pauling taylor was a way of breaking in the happyhardcore into L.A. back in 96? 97.. so he knew if he named himself a girls name he might get more of a response. he aslo goes by the name Gunrunner , thats his gabber name, then goes under KAGE (KAH-GAY).. for his jungle drum&bass witch i must say had some of the wickedst f**ken sets around,..PIRATES OF THE LOW FREQEN-SEAS!!!!!! yo ho ho!!! a pirates life for me,!! ahh classsic.!!!

I picked my name out of a hat.

consequently, it was a Wizard's hat.

the name I picked just said "H"

so I just added "h" to "wizard"

and the rest is history.

I've seen AC Slater on some flyers a while back...
and there used to be a hardcore dj that spun as either puppet f**ker or muppet f**ker, but i think he had to change it cuz people got all pissy about his dj name...
